Obituary - John W. Orrock

John W. Orrock

Old friends paid tribute Sunday
at funeral services held in the
Richfield First ward chapel for
John W. Orrock, 68, of Midway,
who died Thursday in a Salt Lake
hospital.
Bishop Junius F. Ogden presided,
with C.A. Rees of the ward
bishopric conducting the services.
Speakers were Bishop Probst of
the Midway ward, who recalled
Mr. Orrock's services in the ward,
and Frank M. Ogden, an old
friend of the family and member
of the Sevier stake presidency.
The invocation was by G. W. Blomquist;
the the benediction by patriarch
Coleman of Midway. A former
Richfield resident, Mrs. Effie
Ericksen Hulbert of Salt Lake
sang two request numbers, "My
Task" and "I'm a Pilgrim."
"That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine"
was sang by Talmage DeLange,
and a trio composed of
Mrs. L. A. Poulson, Mrs. Otto L.
Anderson and Mrs. Vern Blomquist
sang "Going Home". Miss
Margaret Poulson accompanied the
trio; Mrs. Blomquist was the
accompanist for the other numbers.
Interment was in the Richfield
cemetery, where Henry S. Coleman
ofPioche, Nev., a son-in-law
dedicated the grave.
Mr. Orrock was born at Santaquin
on April 10, 1871, a son of
William C. B. and Mary Ann Ogden
Orroack. He moved to Richfield
with his parents when he
was a year old, and made his
home here until 1910, when he
moved to the northern part of the
state, where for 29 years he was
superintendant of the Utah Power
and Light Company plant at Snake
Creek, near Midway.
His first wife, Annie Morrison
Orrock died in 1903. Surviving
from this marriage are a son, John
Cyril Orrock of Pioche, Nevada,
and three daughters, Mrs. Vivian
Coleman of Pioche, Mrs. Beatrice
Wagner of Ogden and Mrs. Annie
Mahn of Mason City, Washington.
Eleven grandchildren survive.
His second wife, Mrs. Ardina
Leslie Orrock, whom he married
in 1914, died three weeks ago.
Also surviving Mr. Orrock are
three brothers, William T. and
Jospeh Orrock of Richfield and
J. E. Orrock of Ely, Nevada, and
six sisters, Mrs. Chariton Seegmiller.
Mrs. Charles Wilson, Mrs.
J.I.Curtis and Mrs. H. A. Christensen
of Beaver, and Mrs. Pearl
Vorhees of Manti.
